NEWS: Unions Seek More Power Over Cities

Local governments across the state are facing financial shortfalls, and unions are seeking ways to get veto power over local government bankruptcies. The Democratic majority in the Legislature is now maneuvering to bring a union backed bill to the Governor's desk that would give a union dominated commission the ability to extract concessions from local agencies as a condition of filing for bankruptcy.
